San Jose Mexican Restaurant in Raleigh

Located outside of Triangle Town Center. This is a really fun location! The interior is festive. The servers and Host/ Hostesses are all very warm and inviting. We had great service. Our food was piping hot. Great place for parties. Very child friendly. Guacamole cart, someone makes it fresh to order! Black beans available, yay, love that! This location is very busy and there can be a wait at peak hours.

Felt GREAT to enjoy a meal out! And San Jose was on their game tonight. Plenty of distancing and face masks...but the food...oh man THE FOOD.. tasted like the best mexican food I had eaten in decades. Their rice was the best...I got ACP and it was delicious. We will be back! Thank you, San Jose, for excellent food and prompt service!

Awesome staff and food.. Always served it hot and with chips. Authentic Mexican taste and fresh salads.

Been here quite a few times. This location is spacious enough that I don't think I've ever had to wait to be seated. Their food is well seasoned and thoughtfully so. You know how you can usually get the same rice everywhere? The rice is plain here because the rest of the stuff that's usually in it is not needed. If you typically get Enchiladas, I recommend the Chipotle ones. The sauce is creamy with a little spice to it. A welcome break to the tanginess of the suizas or the traditional red sauce.

San Jose displayed amazing service above and beyond the call of duty. They literally went out of their way to deliver first class service to each member at the table. On top of this, the food was amazing. We asked about the tres leches cake (which is terrific!), they decided to bring out a sample for us that was as large as the plate itself! We left San Jose feeling like VIP’s and happily filled with delicious Mexican food.

Food was delicious and reminded me of when I visited Mexico. Our waitress was extremely good and made sure we were happy with everything that we had ordered. Great size portions, actually was a bit too much for me. Lively environment. We also had a coupon that we were able to use that night. We definitely will be back again.

The ACP is dry. Really needs more cheese sauce and more seasoning on the chicken. Food is okay

Great atmosphere, outdoor seating overlooking a small pond with a fountain (pretty cool considering its nestled in a busy retail area right behind triangle town center but that adds to it's convenient location), the staff is a big plus!!! They're so welcoming, attentive and really want your experience to be top notch. The food is amazing and it shows in not only the wonderful taste, but it's obvious that the kitchen staff take pride in what they serve because every item I've ordered is meticulously and professionally arranged in a picture perfect way. Never appears to be slapped onto a plate like a cafeteria or "fast food joint". If you get the opportunity to visit, I would definitely say that this is a can't miss!

Not quite the taste, i had chimichanga qnd baha fish taco.

They have a $7 lunch menu, and a regular lunch menu. $7 menu is from 11a-3p M-F, and the other menu has various posted prices with no times posted. Came on a Sunday at 1:30, and I was told that all items on the regular menu are $1 more than the listed price because it was on Sunday. I pointed to a specific item well outside the special lunch menu and asked, "It is not on the $7 menu, are you sure?" The server confirmed the surcharge.We understand that there is one menu per table due to social distancing, but sharing a single menu between 4 people and requesting a second menu a few times is a bit frustrating especially since a table of 2 was seated right afterwards with 2 menus.

Fast and friendly service! The food is great but the drinks are better!

I had never been to this place, but it was a pleasant surprise! We ordered off the lunch menu and so the prices were very reasonable. The large margarita was on special for $8.00 and it was nice and strong. Not too strong but just enough for the lunch time hour. Almost everything on the lunch menu was about $7 or $8 bucks. The place was very clean, service was fast and the food was Very tasty! The bathrooms were very clean and there was warm running water in the bathroom. :)I ordered chimichanga which came with rice and beans. One of the other pictures is a Fiesta Salad with pineapples and mangoes. Another picture is a pork and pineapple enchilada and last but not least is the chicken burritos topped with lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream. All my teammates said everything was good! The menu was very colorful and there were vegan options and I believe gluten free as well.

I love this place. Very good Mexican food, very reasonably priced, super delicious and great service. I highly recommend.

Three times during the pandemic I’ve ordered take out for delivery and pick up and all three times items were left off. I ordered a family meal pickup ACP and cheese was missing and salsa was missing. Twice I did door dash and items were missing. I understand places gets busy but people aren’t dining in because of the pandemic and take out is the #1 way people are eating out. You have to take the time to check the orders. It’s not an option to say, “we were busy and the cooks were busy.” That’s not good enough. Slow down and check the orders. So disappointed. I loved this place and really enjoyed eating there when the dine in was open, but three times of having things left out, is not ok.

Great food great staff

OMG...it has been months since I have gotten out of the house especially to sit down and dine in. I just want to say they absolutely hit the mark and I do not regret my outting. The waitress (Haydee) customer service skills was EXCELLENT! The cleanliness of the entire restaurant was PERFECT!!! From what I can see all social distancing guidelines were followed and it just felt clean and comfortable. The food was hot and had flavor. I will for sure be revisiting this establishment.

I will never order from this place again. I've given them several chances to redeem themselves, and every single time our food was less than satisfactory. You pay an insane amount for delivery only to get screwed out of your money, and not parts of your order missing. Don't bother calling and complaining because when you explain the problem the only response you will get is "oh"This place is NOT worth the money!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Raleigh. The food tastes great and the staff is always friendly. My personal favorite is the "Chicken Fajita Burrito!"

Dinner was good. A few mistakes during the dinner rush but that’s ok. I had the the Tbone and another person got the especial plate. But I didnt see the tbone in my steak. Ribeye.

Went here for lunch, had never been before. It was not extremely busy at lunchtime on a Thursday- service was fast and the prices are very reasonable. The enchiladas Banderos was excellent. Not too spicy, but a little kick- rice was cooked perfectly. I was very impressed and will be back.

This was my first time eating here and I must say I was impressed with the service I received while dining here. The waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to assist me with selecting an entree. He was personable and made sure that we were satisfied even with the quality of the food. I ordered a burrito and rice combination and the food came out piping hot and fresh. It was well seasoned and tasty. My husband ordered enchiladas and he was super impressed as well. There salsa for the chips they bring out to you are the best I have tasted by FAR at any Mexican restaurant. I normally purchase the queso cheese dip which I wasn't too impressed with at all at this location, but I will definitely come back to this place again when I am feeling a Mexican vibe.

Manager is somewhat rude after speaking on the phone before opening hours inquiring about a receipt ...kinda rubs someone the wrong way. Not sure why he would make it seem as if hes got a billion things to do besides look for my slip. I understand Sir, that's why my number is being taken. At least make someone feel heard!

Best ever ... Great service food is great... bartender makes great drinks...ask bartender for the long island ice tea I drink its a long island ice tea with no sour mix no coke but just a splash of pineapple juice.. F.Y.I you only need 2.... Ask for Jorge the bartender tell him you want the Jeff's special drink...

I placed a pick up order, had ordered enchiladas suizas with red sauce and beef, and a side of beans. Got home only to realize they gave me chicken enchiladas with some sort of white/verde sauce with rice. Just disappointed since this was my first time ever dining with them. Food even though was incorrect-was still good.

San Jose is definitely a diamond in the rough in the Mexican restaurant scene for the rdu area. Amazing chips and salsa. Possibly the best beans I have ever had and a creative menu.

San Jose is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants the Salmon Tropical is usually amazing,but last night it was everything but that. I don't know if it was due to the cooks not being available to prepare the meal properly or what,but I hope after this curbside/and pick up only life we're all living they have all the ingredients and cooks to perfect this amazing dish again...was very disappointed!

I’ve only been here once. I’m not sure if this is an outlier and just a horrible horrible night. But this was honestly the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. It might be one of the worst restaurant meals I’ve ever had. The carne asada tacos were absolutely tasteless. Meat was tough. It was so so so bad. Quesadillas were a big disgusting mess. Meat was again tough and just tasteless. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because I just don’t know how it can be that bad. But wow, this was HORRIBLE.

Food is good but the waitress was very rude. After paying for the meals we ate and leaving a 20% tip she decided not to give us the exact change that was due on a take-out we bought for our co-worker. Forty cents may not be much but it is about the principle. If we're rounding to the nearest dollar, would they accept 0.40 cents less on a bill?

Much higher quality Mexican food at a reasonable price. The decor of the restaurant is refreshingly unique.

Great food, one of the best Mexican restaurants in Raleigh. A variety of choices and the service is great as well. The manager Albert is awesome and is passionate about providing great customer service. A++++

On July 10th ~450p I picked up an online order from San Jose at 5811 Poyner Pkwy, Raleigh NC 27616. Due to COVID-19 & social distancing, I waited until I returned to my car to check my bag only to find out that half of my order was missing. No more than 60 seconds later, I re-entered restaurant to inquire if they had forgotten to give me a bag. THE RESTAURANT MANAGER was rude and approached me as if I was trying to con him or get extra food for free. He said to me, where's the order - I remember packing the 2nd bag with pico de gallo myself. I said maybe you did, but I did not receive it. Next, I thought he was looking for my missing bag, but he was pulling an order for another customer. Once he found my missing bag, he rudely pointed to each item in bag and then said "There are the items you're missing - OFF YOU GO!" as if I was a nuisance. That comment was very unnecessary and condescending when a simple SORRY SIR or I APOLOGIZE FOR THE MIX UP would have sufficed.

Great table salsa! A little kick, and a touch of cilantro! Not the typical mexi-clone restaurant (which I also like). But some similar food.Service great on my visit.

Enjoyed the empanadas and my wife had the asada tacos. Service was quick and precise, food came out fairly quick but also it wasn't very busy and it was around 2 pm before dinner rush. Salsa was grade A quality.

Great place to eat. I can tell you that what I really love, is that they will make the guacamole right in front of you and it's delicious. Very friendly staff. Very clean place. There's also a gentleman that makes caricature of you while there. Well, all I can say, this place is great.

Really good. Good spot for your favorite Mexican foods. They also have some specialties that look yummy for dinner. The guacamole is very good, maybe the best I've had. Lively staff and fast food prep. I recommend this restaurant.

After going to this place for years off and on, I can say that it has not gotten better and I have always agreed to eat there and then regretted it. Back in 2013 it was ok/pretty good and then it just started going down hill. Service became terrible, food quality has gotten worse and unfortunately to make up for probably a lack of customers as was evident this past Tuesday evening, the prices have only kept going up. How is it that two entrees, cheese dip, and two beverages with tip is close to $45.00!!? I mean come on! My family of four spends this amount at a better Mexican restaurant down the road and it feeds our entire family. Will not be returning after giving this place one last shot.

Food was prepped fresh. Really hot still when it got to the table. Beautifully decorated and presented. With very friendly staff who continually checked if we needed anything

Horrible service. Order over the phone for take out. Was told it would take 25 minutes. I show up at the store when my order was supposed to be ready. Ended up having to wait almost 30 min for my food. Clearly the order was never put in. Very disappointing

Service was good. Food was sub par. Guacamole was good and fresh. The entree was 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. It may have been what I ordered but my lunch dates food was even nasty even the empanadas wasn't good.

The food is PHENOMENAL! One of my favorite places to visit!
